Tools You Need

📏Tape Measure
📐Level
✏️Pencil
🪚Fine-Tooth Saw
🧹Cleaning Cloth
🧴Rubbing Alcohol

Step by Step

1

Prep Your Wall

  • Clean the surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or a degreasing cleaner
  • Let the wall dry completely (at least 30 minutes)
  • Remove outlet covers, switch plates, and any wall fixtures
  • Ensure the wall is smooth — lightly sand any bumps if needed
2

Measure & Mark

  • Measure your wall width and height
  • Use a level to draw a horizontal reference line at the bottom
  • Plan your layout — consider staggering seams for a natural look
  • Mark stud locations if you plan to add mechanical fasteners (optional)
3

Cut to Fit

  • Use a fine-tooth saw (hand saw or circular saw with fine blade)
  • Cut from the back side for the cleanest edge on the face
  • Measure and mark each panel before cutting
  • Test-fit before peeling the adhesive backing
  • Pro tip: Cut panels slightly shorter than the wall for expansion allowance
4

Peel & Stick

  • Start from the bottom, working left to right
  • Peel only 12 inches of backing at a time
  • Align the panel with your level line
  • Press firmly from top to bottom, working the adhesive onto the wall
  • Use a J-roller or clean cloth to apply even pressure across the entire panel
  • Butt panels tightly together — no gaps
5

Finish & Enjoy

  • Reinstall outlet covers and wall fixtures
  • Clean any dust or debris from the panel surface
  • Step back and admire your new acoustic wall!

Pro Tips

💡

Temperature matters: Best results between 65°F and 85°F

💡

Acclimatize panels: Let them sit in the room for 24 hours before installing

💡

Stagger the seams: Offset each row by 12-24 inches for a natural wood look

💡

Keep spare panels: Store 1 extra panel for future repairs or changes

💡

Wall texture: Light orange peel texture is fine. Heavy texture may need smoothing.

💡

Don't install on: Freshly painted walls (wait 30 days), wallpapered walls, or damp surfaces
